Explorations in Future Forward Thinking

FOUNDER, SANE
Tiina Peuna

Tiina is the founder of Sane, a creative canvas for your thoughts — it's the easiest way to create and share ideas, visually.

What mediums do you create in?
Building a social tool for creatives
  • Born out of the frustration with current creative tools + social media

Design background graphic to research and philosophy, text based

Visual, text, audio

What tools do you currently use in your creative process?
Figma for work

Tl draw, Figjam for collaboration or jotting down ideas.

Notion (but not a fan), too feature heavy

Bookmarking tools, Apple Notes on phone

Scattered fragments into board/canvas (spatial canvas!)

[Figma share]
  • “Work in chaos”, materials are known, further exploration:

  • Process: dump bookmarking/notes tldraw/figma to bring it together/make linear
  • Process: Love/Hate “optimized for one medium.” Ideas have the same weight in thinking don’t necessarily have the same size in the doc (e.g. Google doc page vs image)
  • Used to chaos: “My work is scattered across different places. Not a pain point for me currently”

Where do you spend the most time in the creative process?
Input (doesn’t write things down systematically), will look at references, add a word as a reminder, no extensive documenting

What creative tool are you building?
Enjoys spatial metaphors online
One way to share/discover on Twitter/Substack Feed UI
Connect early images and quotes in a mind map format, space as a frame instead of a doc
Easily share with others
Wants to use social media to explore make statements (fluid vs concrete)

If you could change one thing about your creative process, what would it be?

Sharing my work and presenting work in different contexts, such as new formats on new platforms for a new audience. Ideating on a creative debut to better showcase your creative process and journey.

Mainly wants to share more on Twitter optimizing for different channels across social media platforms and making content accessible is hard.

Would love to be able to resurface ideas without having to categorize, add tags, folders. Doesn’t want to maintain, but wants to recall. Ideally a tool that involves self maintenance.
